My roommate Brian Jacobs pointed out the timing of Discovery’s album release in a couple of weeks, which contains this cover of Jackson 5’s I Want You Back.

Planning a roadtrip in Portugal requires emailing many different types of people who rent rooms or entire houses to travelers. Many of them obviously don’t speak English, so I made* this page to introduce myself in Portuguese.

Discovery - Osaka Loop Line
It took me a few times around, but this is certainly my favorite track on the album.

Noah took this photo while we were beach camping last weekend on Long Island. It was midnight, and the scene was frightening and beautiful. If anything, certainly otherworldly. The moon was full and shrouded by a thick, fast-moving fog. Looking towards the ocean there was only one color visible, in a gradient of 4 or 5 tones, but to your left or right along the coast they all merged into a sheer gray. It wasn’t vast, rather just the opposite. I experienced a span of absolute nothing for the first time.
The Thick of It - Episode 1- Part 1 of 3
Elizabeth Stark introduced me to this show the other day, a BBC farce comedy about British government. I’m reluctant to compare it to The Office however it certainly riffs on the same themes of inept and juvenile middle management, in this case the Ministry of Social Affairs instead of a regional paper company.
I love it, and I’m excited for the film spin-off called In The Loop to be released widely in the US soon, which bridges the show with its American counterpart starring James Gandolfini as General Miller.
